Upholstery Cleaning
A-1 Chem-Dry upholstery cleaning systems use hot carbonating truck mounted extraction, which works to bubble soil and stains out of the fabric without using soap and shampoo surfactants. Because of the very delicate nature of many fabrics we offer several different methods for cleaning upholstery. Be careful who you trust your upholstery cleaning to. Some fabrics require solvent cleaning methods to clean the fabric that protect against bleeding and crocking of dyes as well as shrinkage and browning discolorations. Other fabrics are simply cleaned with water based solutions. We also offer various treatments to seal color in so as to not fade and we offer protectant treatments to seal dye sites against staining and soils. Many cleaners in the industry are not aware of the various types of fabric and use one process to clean all fabrics which can easily damage fabrics. Urine deposits contaminate the fibers, backing, pad, and flooring. Often without the owners knowing pets will urinate continually in the same general location. The average dog urinates approximately 4 ounces per deposit. The average cat urinates approximately 2-3 ounces per deposit. If multiplied over a period of months, the amount of urine deposited reaches a magnitude of such proportions that even carpet and pad replacement will not solve the problem. Urine odors will still permeate from the floor, tack strip and even from the framework of the house.
As urine dries, the liquid evaporates but the urine crystals, which consist of bacteria, urochrome, uric acid, urea proteins, hormones and other ingredients, become even more concentrated and pungent. Simple cleaning will not remove the odor. Disinfectants, perfumes and enzymes will not remove this odor. HOW PURT WORKS
- The source and severity of the odor are determined, and then the carpet will be rinsed and extracted with a hot water rinse to remove the bulk of the urine crystals.
